Artifacted: farm photogrammetry

I’ve been doing a project over the last year or so exploring photogrammetry of farm buildings with the support of the Sask Arts Board. It’s end goal has been to create a VR project where can be immersed with these artifacts of the prairies. I captured about a dozen building from around Saskatchewan and have some ways to go to bring the full VR experience to life.

In late 2019 I was contacted by the Dunlop Art Gallery to create a Virtual Reality piece for their show “The Art Happens Here: Net Art’s Archival Poetics“ curated by Rhizome. I thought it would be interesting to take a few of the buildings and convert them into more of an art gallery showcase of the some of the models that I ended up creating. I was inspired by Morehshin Allahyari’s work ”MATERIAL SPECULATION: ISIS“ as inspiration for my project (which is part of the curated show).
